WG Hiroshima Cultural Event - July 20, 3:15pm - 6:00pm
Join us for a heritage cruise to Miyajima Island — one of Japan’s most iconic and scenic destinations, famous for its historic beauty and cultural depth. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride starting from Hiroshima and explore the island's stunning park grounds guided by a local English-speaking guide who will share the unique history of this important site. You’ll learn what makes Miyajima so essential to Japanese culture, how its heritage evolved, and why its breathtaking views continue to move people centuries later.
This event is free to all Working Group participants and their companions.

Event Timeline
- 3:15 pm: Meet at ferry terminal (10-min. walk from hotel)
- 3:35 pm: Boat departs
- 4:20 pm: Arrive at Miyajima Island
- 4:20 pm – 6:00 pm: Guided tour
- 6:00 pm: End of event
Logistics for returning to the hotel are on Whova (Monday agenda). Mainland ferry ticket included; further transportation on your own.
